Well, actually, I only had $100 in the Marlin. LOL. Yeah, the main thing I wanted was the v8 for my current '73 project. Everything else that came with it is just extra stuff.
You beat me to it. A Marlin 22 is about worth that...........tops. It wasn't that long ago that you could buy em new from the local Walmart for $150. You stole that car. I'm gonna have to report you.................LOLOLOLOL
Not sure if you bought the car yet or not, but one sure fire way to tell if its a stroker is to pull the pan and see if the inner cylinder walls have been beveled at the bottom, if that hasn't been done to the block it's not a stroker. Hey my motor is in that .01%, at least they appear to just be stock cast heads.
I should be able to take a plug out this weekend and do some measuring. Maybe I'll get more lucky and it be a 347.
I didnt think anyone made 7/16 cap bolts for 347, learn somethin new everyday, my bolts are 3/8 which is exactlly why i had to bevel the block and it's only a 331 set up.
Sorry that was bass ackwards, the 5/16 cap bolt would be smaller correct ? Forgive me i'm a lil tired.
No, the piston tops have nothing to do with measuring the stroke. The dome will be there at the top and bottom of the stroke. They don't disappear in between.
I understand that, but if the top is taller than say a stock flatop, making the distance from the wrist pin to top of the piston greater on the pop up, could that not throw the measurement off ?
The way it should be measured is at TDC, then again at BDC... The added length to the 1st measurement is the actual stroke, 3" for a 302, 3.4" 347 & 3.25" if it's a 331...
Basicly what im getting at is when the flat top piston is bottomed out the measurement will be greater than a pop up piston, yes or no ?
