...hood to cowl seal warning...

    while researching my A/C system I came across this...now we know why it's there...I guess it is important that it be installed...:yup:


    "If you can smell exhaust or other mechanical odors while the airflow is in the fresh air mode, inspect the hood seals near the firewall. Note the condition or if they are missing."

    USed to be a real common complaint on our older Chryslers. The seal would fall off and people would complain about the engine fumes. Cant imagine how many Ive glued back on. The late model dodge trucks still have that same old seal fall off..... It can make a big difference in the fumes.

    Good to know. I assumed it was to direct rain to the sides of the engine. Didn't seem necessary but I put a new one on 'cause the're cheap. Glad I did.

    Maybe its not so important if you have a cowl induction hood....or a huge hole in your hood.
