Do a compression and a leak down test.

Do you have a dual plane intake on this engine or a single plane???
Are you running a PCV valve and is it on the same or opposite bank from the pipe that was throwing smoke???

Is your carb a mechanicle secondaries double pumper with 4 corner idle or is it a vacuum secondary carb without 4 corner idle???

so as im thinking out the problem i think this. what intake are your using? the performer rpm
this is a duel plane intake. each plane feeds two cylinders on each side of the motor. so if it was a problem with 1/2 the carb it should smoke out both sides of the exhaust.
so now the first thing i would do is pull every spark plug out. i would do both sides so you can really compare how all the cylinders are running.
after you pull the plugs you will have a good idea of where to look next. i suspect a compression test or a leak down test will be in order.
i have a leak down tester if you dont. we could do it at my shop.

Thanks man. This turned in to a bad day. I found those things for the scoops at the third store I went to. That was good then it went downhill

I'm not sure on all of that. All I know is it's an edelbrock 750 electrical choke

Well, I was going where Bryant is...Seems you may have a problem with one side of the carb.(Opposite side from the pipe that blows smoke) If the oil smells like gas...I would change it regardless but, Check the carb out. See if one side isnt just rolling fuel into the engine at idle. The PCV will pull fuel vapor along with the oil vapor out of the crank case, into the carb/intake but, The whole system would show rich since the pvc isnt diverted to one side of the intake or the other. Check the carb out. If it all looks good. Do as Bryant stated... Read the plugs and do a leakdown test...Good luck man!!!

Thank u for ur time. Something I haven't mentioned is I had my car dyno tuned about a month ago and they set it up to be a lil rich and they messed with the carb so when I smashed the gas when I was racing there wouldnt be any hesitation

Do you know what kind of pistons/rings are in the engine? Manufacturer/ type of aluminum, Moly rings etc...

No never till today. Was just thinking maybe that would help with the " something is wrong with the carb" theory or it's flooded
