    Rear shackles on a 1973 Maverick; ok now what year Ford Mustang shackles will on my 73 Maverick? Want to order from globel west but they are not shure, so I ask you gods of the forum here for a hand!

    Mustangs used a larger bushing, and bolt compared to Maverick shackles.

    If you have a lathe, you could turn the bushings down to size. Some Cougars, used the same size shackles as Mavericks.
    It's one of those parts, that no one makes a performance replacement for.

    General springs says FS-772 shackles are used on their replacement leafs springs for Mavericks. Not sure if their springs have different rear eyelet sizes than factory leaf springs.

    I have also seen MOOG K8785 bushings advertised as replacements for our cars, but I cannot verify that they work. Maybe you can find out more about them.

    Ive purchased stock shackles from napa last year. Ive got most all stock suspension parts ordered globlel springs on monday, called them today to see wear thy where an may be tomarrow, they will show up but recomended for a big block car, go figure. Back to the rear end maybe four link is a beter way to go..
