you're lying to me, thats not very nice. I am closing my eyes and plugging my ears.

*sigh* I dont want to have mine like that. Think I could fab a extention so it doesnt do that on the side? like a sideways Z and it will still shift? its a auto

Keep in mind that the 69.5/70 didn't have a floor shifter. The 71's and newer had the larger tunnel that actually had a flat top surface. :)

Can you fabricate a small sideways z to reposition the shifter to the center of the transmission tunnel with 18 gauge steel like 1" wide by whatever measurement to center the shifter? If you can't picture it I will draw it up in a bit.

thats my understanding. No floor shifters in 70. If you cut the stock tunnel for a shifter, it comes thru the side

I once did that to re-position a stock Hurst Pistol Grip shifter from a Challenger to fit in the stock hole in my 73 Duster tunnel. 1/4 inch steel did it just fine. 18 guage will bend up pretty fast - use metal at least as heavy as the shifter was made from but it can be done easily (y)

K good to know. I am almost done with my interior and I was going to be furious if I had to cut my trans tunnel to get a centered shifter on the tunnel lol.

I have a C4 auto trans. Should I rebuild or buy new? And what is the costs between the two and pros-vs-cons to for both?

Plan on doing a 289 with 302 heads, and stroke to 347. Roller cam, roller rockers, with a eldebrock intake with a 4 barrel carb.

Also, email me some pictures of your build. I wanna see everything!!! lzoesch @ gmail.com
