speedometer trouble shooting.

My speedometer isn't working. How would I go about trouble shooting it to figure out what is wrong?

Any and all information is appreciated.

Check the speedo gear going into the trans. If its good replace the cable.

Ck to see if cable came loose from speed o meter cluster very common. When this happens most times you will a scratching noise behind dash. Hope this will be a help.

 

+1. Had a chewed-up gear in two different vehicles in the past 5 years.
