When I bought my Grabber 5 years ago the guy threw this in as well. It has been in a box since I bought the car and I doubt that I will use it. I will probably end up selling it, so I would like to know exactly what it is and the approximate value. Is this for Mavericks only or will it work for Mustangs and others? Is there anything missing, like the compressor? How much is it worth? Thanks!
It is an "dealer add-on" air conditioning unit. Honestly.....probably not wroth a whole lot because it would be near impossible to get parts for.
Put it on Ebay, and see what happens. The place I started my apprenticeship at, use to install under dash units in cars, they even had some new in the boxes in the early 90's, I always wished I would have kept one.
Just curious....has that got heat also? looks like it has temp adjustment and hoses for heat.. but I don't know if I'm seeing it right.
Ahhh ok thanks Dave, I knew you would know, you deal with HVAC tech. all the time, as well as I do but I just know if it's warm or cold lol.
I woudn't pitch it.....but then again.....I don't pitch ANYTHING (well...rarely). Put it on ebay. Somebody might want it for a street rod or use it for parts, etc.
Looks kinda like an old Sears unit. In between the knobs looks like the old "S R" emblem [Sears & Roebuck]. It probably uses standard ac components, like the expansion valve, blower motor, etc. If the blower works and there are no leaks in the evaporator, it could still be used. The way it's made, looks to be for a package shelf car, 69.5-73.
