so my lowering spings came in today and I set them beside a set of factory ones and they are much shorter than the originals, it dosnt even look like I wouldnt even need that much compression to put them in. my moms 66' had the same kind in it and when dad jacked the stang up the lowering coils that had been installed in it by the previous owner had some play in them, they werent tight against the spring seat at all once the front tires left the ground, are they supposed to be like that? I got the blue ones from mustangs unlimited.
Your springs should not be loose with the suspension hanging. But that does not mean your new Maverick springs will do that. Maybe the Mustang ones were incorrect? Give 'em a try.
Do they look like these: The rusty looking ones are the stock springs out of my 73 Grabber, the silver ones are the one's I replaced them with 1" 1970 Mustang lowering springs from National Parts Depot.
My old ones came from mustangs unlimited they were a higher rate 650lb but where like 2" shorter they where tight in the car and I did hae to use a compressor
Sounds exactly like the ones that came in today. Maybe they fit better in a maverick than they do in a mustang. were yours the blue onse?
