Thrush has been around since the 60's...I don't recall Dynomax name in the 70's. Dynomax bought Thrust
I loved the 80's. The 90's was a total bore. Had a single Thrush muffler on my first V8 Mav. What a strange sound. I think I bought it just for the sticker. LOL.
Got a set of thrush mufflers on my car, cant say I am readily impressed they just seem to be chinese made flowmaster knockoffs.. (I didnt know they were chinese when I bought them off ebay.. figured they were US made since Thrush use to be a good company)
I live in the 60s and early 70s. I never like thrush, Walker Glass packs and Cherry Bombs were the only alternatives.
The original Thrush was a steel pack IIRC. When the steel wool burnt out of them, they sounded a lot like a blowmaster--tinny. The Hush Thrush was a turbo style, I ran a set of them back in the late 70's on a Mustang. Pretty good sound back then. Not sure about the current models, probably the same as the Dynomax since they're made by the same company. Just different paint/lables on them....
They pretty much are the same as dynomax's. And they're both have tenneco stamped on them...at least the regular turbo ones i've seen. The super turbos are identical, except the trush one doesn't have the baffles. but everything else is spot on.
A few years ago Dynomax had the dyno run a Summit. The company rep had an engine on stand so people could hear the different mufflers they make. They all sound different.
