I was revving high and shifting hard, went from 1st to 2nd and then to 3rd, tried to go into 4th and missed it and went into 2nd by mistake. I was in the 6800 rpm range. After that the engine was making a knocking noise. But it was still driving ok. I towed it to the shop and this is what I found.
well atleast it looks like it just backed off.did it bend the pushrod?alot of guys watch me crank the hell out of my pollylocks at the track, this is why!!
Had that happen to me when i did my rebuild, never went back to tighten everything down when i did 600 miles :/ luckily it was just a pushrod that bent
Were you in the 6800 range when it happened? If so, what did the motor go to. That's why you need the rev limiter. Hope you had one.
well bryant, funny you should ask! So I was in the car with the girlfriend. Later the next day I said "dang car". She said "why are you blaming the car, you missed the shift and shifted wrong by mistake, isn't it your fault?" So I got called out on it majorly
Just wait until you're married ... they have a way of twisting everything into a final result where somehow it will always be your fault ... A little duct tape, that rocker will be fine ....
I couldnt have wrote that better myself. I cant describe how true that actually is. So long as she had nothing to do with that missed shift Mo.:16suspect Still be your fault anyhow.LOL.
