what the general option on this flywheel? i'm not looking for any super light flywheel just wanted to know if you think the product is oK. Also want to confirm that it will fit on my 71 302 that in in the process of putting a T5 behind. http://dynamicracingproducts.com/AutoPartsStore/product_info.php?cPath=1_12&products_id=1308
that seems expensive to me. try napa. i think they sell stock replacement. i would expect to pay around $75 for a stock flywheel.
on rockauto.com i looked up a flywheel for a 70 mustang with a 302. they list one for $55.00. that should work for you
That's a good price in a billet steel flywheel. I paid nearly 300 for my sfi billet steel unit (11") clutch though
Billet steel is worth the money for racing but not for street use. The factory used cast flywheels and they held up well on the street.
If your going to spin it above 5,500-6,000 it is in my opinion. Others may disagree but then again im kinda attached to walking and i do like my feet also
i dont think so. its got the 28oz imbalance. i didnt rember that you had the 250. just find a stick shift mustang with a 250 on rock auto. that should work for you.
You can't use the same flywheel on a six and a V8. I don't buy anything at Autozone - no opinion that would be meaningful to anyone but me.
sorry to brake back in to the conversation but i have still been researching flywheels and i think that i am probably going to go with a billet steel flywheel but there seems to be a lot of them out there and im not sure on the quality of the products/reputable stores. just wandering what type besides stock that are being used or would be recommended
Just be sure to buy the flywheel and clutch at the same time - there are three types of clutch pressure plates and two different bolt patterns.
i already bought a clutch from nappa, so is just the stock disc style, what type of bolt pattern should i be looking for?
