he wants to restore it u know keep the inside stock but he wants a 302 in it. i was thinking of finding a exploder with a 5.0. taking it out with wires computer and including the dash gauges and fabin with fiberglass a new gauge holder in the maverick. is this possible. and any ideas where to start to restore this for him i want it to be a comlete secret kinda thing.
Anything is possible. You just have to have the time, skill, and $$$. Search for v8 swap, tons of info on here.

Only thing I would say is make sure you can finish whatever you start before he returns. He might not be happy to come home and find his car disassembled in ways he never imagined. Good intentions are nice but not enough. Might be better to just do the V8 conversion with carb. Do the mounts, radiator, exhaust,... Seems like plenty. Just a thought.
