    My steering wheel evolution.

The wheel that came on the car that almost burned it up. Cheapie Grant. In garbage now.

A factory wheel I've had on for 2 seasons. Great shape,20 bucks off Ebay.

Finally the wheel I put on yesterday from MeanMaverick. Great shape for its age. I took the horn button apart and painted the silver, cleaned up the spokes with light steel wool and compound. This horn button is in great shape. Not a mark and the rubber is really soft. Ordered a custom wrap for the grip which is in good shape to start with. Just light wear. Wheel looks and feels much better. Drives better as well. I think its about an inch smaller.

Big thanx to Mean Maverick for a great part at a reasonable price again.:thumbs2:

Almost forgot. Another big plus that I would never have thought of. The reason Ford put the holes in the spokes, so I can see my gauges through them down on the lower left. LOL.

That looks great! I really like the sport steering wheels. (y)

Hopefully there will be one in my Comet's future.

I still think I can come up with a mod to use non-horn type sport steering wheels and incorporate a horn/slip ring. We'll see...

I thought about that Dave but the center is in such nice shape I think I'll just leave the Ford for now.
At least till I get bored with it and change it to something else. The guy who did my stripes has a vinyl machine. Who knows what I may come up with.
Besides it kind of reminds me of my old Bronco. :hmmm::biglaugh:

I love those. Been looking for one. What's the diameter on that, about 14"?

15" measured it for the cover.

Thought so. That's the only problem for me, the only reason I haven't done it yet. I really prefer the feel of a smaller one. 13" is perfect, 14" is fine too, but 15" might be too much. Maybe if I could get a quicker gear ratio in my steering box...
