i had got one from auto krafters and wasnt satisfied with the quality compared to a factory scoop and sent it back and bought a factory scoop. but thats the way it always is stock parts are always better.alittle work on it and it should work though. heads up,just to let you know you can get it cheaper thrue crites restoration, thats where ak gets it from.

    Don't buy from AK...
They are a 'middle man' and jack the price way up.
I believe their source for this scoop is Crites.
Regardless, Crites has them, and for about half the price.
Look under Cougar Eliminator, it is the same scoop that Mercury used on the Comet.

    GT hood scoop

Does anyone know what a factory GT hood scoop with black plastic insert for the front in perfect shape is worth? My dad worked at Ford forever and brought one home way back to use as a door on something he was building on his boat. I quickly grabbed it and still have it. It would likely fit the early 70's hood.

Its worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. I never knew they had an insert as an option. Post pics if you can!

I think it fits quite well, and goes with the grabber stripes on a 73, but the snorkel type Grabber hoods won't match up.
