I tried the POS repop door jam weather stripping and it sucked. The windshield and trunk repop sare fine. I ended up trashing it and using my 40 year old OEM weatherstripping that was nice than the new stuff.

Instead of just bitching, I've emailed Carpenter. I stay at the same hotel as they do, for the spring and fall Columbus swap meet. A few times ago, one of the guys gave me his contact info, so we'll see what he says.

Thanks, I had a set of these in the budget for next spring. I really don't want to spend that kind of money for stuff that doesn't fit well.

the door weatherstripping i bought from AK were crap as well. Both of them were to short and ended up tearing because they were stretched out to far. but i have to keep them on because if i dont i would have a wet maverick on the inside...

My AK door weatherstrips went on OK. No way they were short. A little long if anything. I put the pins in each end and then applied the glue being careful not to stretch them. If I had started at one end and pulled them snug there would have been extra on the other end for sure.

What about the big bulbous ends? Did they not interfere with the body side w-strips? That is what I am upset about....the ends dont resemble the factory ends at all. They are so fat, that I think they will make the door extremely hard to shut.

Anyone with pics of theirs installed???????

I got all my weather strips from AK. Never had a problem. That was 5 years ago...

It seems weird that the comments posted are so far apart from one another. Either really good or really bad. Could these parts have that much of a quality control problem?

Sounds like were talking about 2 completely different products:huh:

    Well,
I got an Email from Dennis Carpenter,. they do not produce the parts in question, or any Maverick weatherstrips.
