    1971 Maverick Sprint
First time posting. I have a 1971 Maverick that has a decal on the back near the right brake light, SPRINT V8. This is a December car with a bench seat, 3 speed floor shift, 302. I can't find out anything about the Sprint. It was bought new at a dealer in NC. Everyone tells me it can't be a Sprint because it is a 1971 car. Does anyone know about this?

Is it white with blue stripes, with a white and blue interior? With the Interior code of "RB"?
If not, then it's not a Sprint, as the 72's are know as.

Even if it had all that it cant be a Sprint as we know them. Sprints did not come out until the spring of 72. Maybe it was a dealer package.

A Sprint will have this designation in the trim code block on the door tag(RB). Sprints were only made from April to June of 1972.
It is possible the badge you have on your car is from an early 60s' Falcon.
Pontiac also had a "Sprint package" in the late 60s'...
    Sorry awful pic....Second ones better.

I see it now...Thats just an addition. Either a decal/sticker or airbrushed artwork. Not a standard item on the Mavericks at all.

yeah I wrote an email to the person selling that car telling them that it wasn't a "real Maverick Sprint" and got a reply that was what seem like a half hearted Thanks for the info, but they didn't seem to interested in what I had to tell them about the Sprint being the Red White and Blue appearance package in 1972 ONLY. I mean it's an absolutely georgous car and I would love to see it in person because on every computer I have looked at it the pictures make it look WHITE yet he states that the paint is Diamond BLUE. If it is the BLUE that I am thinking of My buddy used to own a Torino GT that color and it is an awesome color.

Interesting and Very nice looking car to say the Least but definetly NOT a FACTORY optioned SPRINT. Maybe like someone else said, Maybe a Dealer installed trim/decal package.

Do you have any good pictures of the Car? Is it the Diamond Blue one in the link above?

Awesome car if so, but like these guys have already said it really is not a Factory optiioned Maverick Sprint....
