I am not sure but somebody here might know. If a fuel tank from a 69-70 Mustang will fit you can buy a new 22 gal tank at Parts Train for $140  plus the sender and staps. Just a guess but if it works it will get you on the road and for longer periods of time :drive:

The 1970 takes the drop through the floor type tank not the strapped under the floor type. It was the only year Maverick that had that tank.

1970 was almost the only year that had that type

    Welcome!

Here's an ad for a complete 1970 Maverick in Maryland, which is far away, but you never know, it's only $750, and you might use some of the other parts too:

    http://buycarandsellcar.com/listingdetails.aspx?id=782293

Looks like a recent listing, but if you're interested, you'll have to call to see if it is still available.

    Good luck!

If it is a drop through then that probably widens the list of cars that might fit. 60's Mustangs, Comets and Falcon had drop throughs. I know they repop a lot of Falcon and Mustang stuff and tanks are one of them.

It's been talked about before. It can be done but, to use an early drop in Stang tank, you would have to change the configuation of the square well that the Maverick tank fits into. Since they don't re-pop the Maverick tank, you're stuck with finding a good donor or having your own renewed. :)
