i heard that these heads require different headers to get the spark plugs in an out. if this is true will the hedman headers for a maverick with a 302 work with gt40 heads? thanks

GT40 "P" heads require special manifolds/headers.... the earlier GT40 heads do not require anything special and will bolt up to your existing exhaust system or any aftermarket header

thanks. i think these heads just say gt40 not gt40 P. do you think these heads would be much of an improvment over the wore out stock heads?

Much better flow, and way more power over stock heads.

P heads have 4 bars on the ends of the heads, regular GT40s have only 3 bars. Cannot miss it.

Also, the spark plugs stick out at an angle on gt40s, and almost straight out on the P heads. I think it is only a 10 degree angle on the P heads, which is just about straight out. That is why they won't fit without a bunch of hassle. The plugs stick right into the header tubes.

I had GT40's on the stock block with a 4 ba carb. You will notice a great difference. I did change cams also but nothing to stout.
