help 245 60 15 tires rubbing

no no the picture is before i got air shock.

these pictures are of airshocks and all at 100psi. i took them with my phone so sorry if there arent very good

 

i would think with 100psi in the shock that fender would never touch.

...and that looks more like 2" backspacing.

 

Just curious ,What brand wheels are those ?

Yep those wheels are way wrong on the offset for these cars. My 255 60 15 arent even close to the lip.

 

well i just got off the phone again with discount they said they are going to put a 235 60 15 on it today and when i have the money for the rims they will install them for 1/2 price because it was a fitment mistake which they made. these people are really good with working with me

 

So where are the pics of the shock top mounts???

 

The reason I wanted to know the manufacturer of the wheels is to see if my assumption was correct, and It was. Eagle does not make a 15x 10 wheel with 4.5 back spacing. I do believe you have the 3.75 backspacing on those wheels.

I used to have Cragar SS wheels on my car that where the same size and back spacing as yours and I had a rubbing problem too.

For the record...I don`t like the wheels that are currently on your car at all either. lol!
I figured as long as YOU like them that is all that matters.

As stated your rear tire can be as close as 1/2" from the leaf spring and not cause any problems. The 10" wide wheels are hurting you too. They will make the tire spread out too far, especially since you're going to a smaller tire. I have 1/2" clearance at the spring, 8" Weld wheels, 4.5 backspace, 275/60R 15's, rolled lips, a good 3/4" clearance between the tire and fender well. The lips were already rolled due to the 10" wide wheels that used to be on my car, otherwise no need in rolling. I say lose the wheels as soon as possible.

 

8 inch wheel is about as wide as you need to go with these cars. 8 inch wheel and the right backspacing and you can put a LOT of rubber on the road.


the Blue car in my signature line had 8 inch Magnums on the rearend and something like a 255(265)/60-14 and when you looked under the rear of that car all you seen was rubber.
