i have my motor out of the car. completely stripped. with the motor turned 45 deg i find a bolt that will not let go. it is directly under thedrivers side rear most cylinder. i cant find anything that would suggest oil pre. so could that be water temp? i thought that was some where else. see i dont know everything, but im learning!!!!
Try not to break the temp unit lol, its very picky on how much you twist it. EDIT: What did this motor come out of? If its out of an 80s, it may be for a manual transmission. I think my motor had one too.
this what ever is sitting right below the most rear piston on drivers side. im trying to verify my motor date of mfg. right now. not sure what im looking for.
ok, cool- i rolled the motor over and found anther at the most forward cylinder right under. i myself have never seen nor used this method of draining.
yes sir thats it however on mine there is a two sided bolt. thread s going in and tread to grip onto. thats got me puzz?
They should have it at your local autoparts store. I've only seen them on intakes. But this is also the first time i have ever herd this come up.:16suspect
RIGHT ON- SUPER THANK YOU!! maybe someone else knows the exact name. i've never seen them before. my first ford.
It's is a very common pipe plug. You can get them at any hardware store or auto parts store you will need the size . Those are in the water jacket to drain water from block. If you can get them out you can install drain petcocks
