I know its a 302 but dont know much more after that.. Its got an edelbrock performer intake with a holley carb and some weird ford valve covers. Dont know if anything is original. Or if anything is special about it. like an HO or roller or anything?? So heres some pictures. Oh the valve cover starts E6ZE which im guessing is 86?

Somebody sold this motor for scrap iron because they were holding it for a buddy and he never came back so they got sick of it and sold it for scrap iron well i have a buddie at the scrap iron place and he kept it for me.:D

The valve covers are from an H.O.. That casting date in the head is June 26, 19?6. Check the block and heads for casting numbers. My guess right now, would be an '86 or '87 5.0 H.O, that's had some other stuff swapped on the front.. There should also be a partial VIN stamped in this area:

What heads are those? Any GT40 marks on front, or maybe E7 casting numbers? Or D8 boat anchors?

EDIT--nevermind. Looked at the first pic. Not GT heads.

The G stands for the model year, which is 1986. The F stands for the River Rouge plant, Dearborn, Michigan. AKA, Mustang. H.O., roller. Pull the intake and see for yourself. Promise you it is.

Sounds like a score. Especially if you have E7 heads on them. Good starting point for a stout motor buildup.

Pushrod length is about 6.25 inches or a bit shorter. They have a little sleeve type thing on it that is about an inch big but thats included in the 6.25 length.. Im working on cleaning up the motor to find what else i can find its so grimey cant see anything, the valve covers werent tight at all and just leaking oil.

    Sleeve??? ON the push rod?

But yes, my Roller block uses 6.250 length rods. So it sounds like an HO.

Can you find a casting number on those heads? I hope you have E7s, they are pretty nice, and easy to open up a bit.
