Bro source an engine from an explorer with he 5.0l 95-99 or so.....then find a good c4 now realize you will still need to spend more than 500.00. I just do not see it happening in that budget range......you need frame mounts, motor mounts, a good v8 cross member, new exhaust etc. a carb........I am thinking when it is all said and done depending on what kinda deal you can find 1k to $1500........save some cash......trust me

Have you changed the spark plugs or found a cheap set of headers?

 

and so does a 351c that does not mean it isn't a good option for somebody who is not a mechanic in fact headers are easier on a cleveland too!!!

Would it be possible to flip the 351 you saw in the ad? Degreaser and paint should give you a few more $100 out of it, that would up your budget.

But...its a gamble, a few hundred dollars goes a long way.

 

I have never heard of hooker 6901's fitting a 351 in a maverick. Unless you smashed them in or something

 

If I had a place to put it, etc I could, but right now what money I do have needs to go towards my mav now, as it's my daily driver... =( Hate being Young and Poor, LOL.

i have plenty of clearence, if they will fit a 302 they will fit a 351, do a little more research and dont take other peoples words for it


302 has the same size width as a 351w

 

Wrong. Have you ran your engine numbers to make sure you even have a 351? Sounds to me like you have a 302.

if my engine wasnt a 302 it wouldnt run right because a 351 firing order is different from a 302 firing order

i love when people on these forums try to tell you what you can and cant do because it didnt work for them, my proving grounds are in the shop not on the computer kid...
