Speaking of making a mold, I think somebody needs to get ahead of the game and make a mold for qtr trim panels and kick panels. I think there will be a market soon. Back on topic. I did a search about the Crites hood here and did find a couple of posts mentioning them....has anyone ever got one? Crites stuff is pretty good in my book. I'd like to see one. Here's a couple pics of my Crites hoods 64 Falcon 427 hood...dirty around the edges from handling 66 Fairlane 427 hood still in gelcoat
thanks for the article on making poly hoods, i may use that technique to build a new motor box for my boat! love this site!
fiberglass hood they are crap....they suck.... dont do it. if you search long enough you can find a steely hood and be alot happier for near the same money.
i'm going to do it when i get a good hood, the one i have right now is a POS. I'm also going to ask my neighbor if i can borrow his cobra jet hood scoop to make a mold outta it
Since you're in Louisville, head up to Columbus a take a look at Crite's hoods if he has any in stock.
Do you remember if thier hoods are molded without the scoops? I saw on on the strip that had a fiberglass hood that had the scoops molded in but the frt was solid...I guess you can cut them out but they just wouldn't right. Not sure who makes that one.
