I listed my 70 grabber for sale it has a 250 in it. I get an email from a guy saying "all grabbers were v-8s thought you might want to know i have 3"
I email him back saying no there werre more with six cylinders telling him how many i have had i even gave him a link to a post about grabbers and told him to join here and make a thread asking. This is the reply i get back "ok if you want to mislead people NOT ME go ahead thought you might want to know the TRUTH but i guess thats not you" Gosh people just annoy me some time.:rofl2:

I find that I can't force information on some people. There will be no end to the Boss - 4 speed - dual exhaust - 4 barrel - big block crowd out there.

Just take it in stride :Handshake

My guess if that if he did indeed have 3 Grabbers he would certainly know they came with 6 cylinders. I try and ignore there ignorance.

A guy at the racetrack said the same thing. He was probaly in his 50's. He said the same thing. I said he was wrong. He starts arguing. I tell him I have $170 that says he is wrong. He wasn't sure enough to bet though. Another guy I know says he got a factory 9 inch rear with 3.73's and posi out of a 72 comet gt. Says he ran the numbers and they made 2000 comet gts with 4spds and 9 inch rears. He is so full of crap I don't even argue with him. His maverick ran a 7.98 at 100 in the 1/8 and low 8's all the time. I saw it at the track and the best he could get was a 9.91 at 70mph. It has a toploader in it and he blaimed it on the shifter. They work on the shifter and it runs low 10's. Some people I just don't get. If you ask him a wuestion once and ask the same thing later you will get a different answer. lol

Some people! I wish I had a dollar for everytime somebody told me their car had a "Boss" 302 in it. I've even heard "genuine hi-po Maverick" and I had a guy swear up and down he had a 67 Mach 1 Mustang.

Oh and I forgot the guy up the street who has a 65 Mustang with the "big 6" in it from the factory. Lordy lordy.

Btw....since you are selling the Grabber, it sure would be sweet if a member here would buy it. I think it would make a very nice car. If I had the dough and room to keep it, I'd consider it.

    A 70 Grabber is a pretty neat car....even if yours has had the V8 replaced with a 6! :rofl2:

I had a 65 Fastback cloned to a Shelby GT350, had a dude start an argument with me in a convenience store in front of people I did'nt know, about how the "GT350" meant it came with a 350 chevrolet. I know I should'nt have, but I let him get under my skin, I really wanted to pop him in the mouth!!! :yup: The older I get I realize you can't fix stupid:tiphat:

Back in the 70's I met a guy that had a 318 2 barrel engine in his Duster. I think it had something like 155 hp stock from the factory. He claimed that it could eat any 340 and some 383's because it was a "freak" from the factory. I heard almost the very same story from a guy with a 67 Malibu running a greasy 283 2 barrel engine.

    A freak they say

Funny thing is, I knew a car just like this when I was about 16. A guy in our neighborhood had it. Completely stock 283, 3-on the-tree, inherited it from a relative, and it ran like a bat out of hell. Would lay rubber for half a block. Guys with big blocks would ask what was in it. Nobody could figure out how or why it ran like it did.

must have been an earnest marcum 283. He was a guy that raced a 66 chevy 2 and claimed a 283 glide. It destroyed many big blocks and nearly everything he ran. Won 78 out of 80 races. Dad used to race with them in the 70's and they never could beat them
