hey guys got my new radiator today and got it installed pretty much a direct bolt in also got a 16 inch electric fan dont know yet if i will use it as a pusher or puller.if i get rid of the motor fan i can use it as a puller.if i use it as a pusher there is not much room with the trans cooler in front of the radiator.what do you guys think. i need some input here.a couple of pics. thanks john
I'd try it as a puller and lose the engine fan. See if that works. A puller is more efficient. No need to block off more air to the radiator.
The local Mustang shop had a few (Champions), they were installing into cars (Mustangs), so last weekend was the first time I've ever seen one in person. I was impressed with the overall quality.
i think thats what i will do also i heard you can gain a few ponies loosing the engine fan.must say im real impressed with the champion quality.
I just got one (champion radiator) for my 66 Muskrat (mustang). Quality and price are unbeatable! There isn't enough room between the fan and radiator so I couldn't use a fan shroud so I built a short duct for it instead. Should work fine. You should mount the cooler in front of the radiator, near the bottom, crossways and use a puller fan. There is no need to have two fans running - either one will probably be fine.
Looks awesome man,ya mind if i ask ya how much it was with shipping?I plan on ordering mine on monday and cant wait!
Nice looking radiator It's good to hear that someone is making anything that is a direct bolt in for a Maverick/Comet
not at all i got it from leadfoot racing on e-bay for 244.00 with a 16 inch electric fan if you go to there e-bay store they will give an additional 5 bucks off from the buy it now price.and very good to deal with my fan was cracked so they said they will send me a new one and i dont have to send the other one back.but hurry the guy told me that deal was only going to last a couple more weeks. john
