I was wondering if you can reuse the stock roller lifters when installing a new roller cam. I didn't realize what roller cam parts cost. The cam itself b303 is $200 and its $350 with lifters.

Every cam lifter combination creates its own wear pattern. It is not recommended, however many people have done it. It could very well shorten the life of your cam lifters and or cause other damage if your lifters fall apart. I wouldnt myself. If you do I wouldnt tell anyone. LOL

i have reused roller lifters on lots of motors. i have never had a problem. im sure there are circumstances where it could be a problem but i suspect that the odds are low that any damage will occur

If you keep an eye on ePay, new sets of M-6500-R302 Ford Motorsport lifters can be found for under 100 bucks. I also have a set of used rollers I plan on using unless I can get a new set for cheap.

Used B303 cams run about $50-75. You can reuse cams and lifters with roller cams. Mix and match. No problem. Just inspect before using like 302-72-Mav suggested. If you want better lifters with a higher rev potential than the stockers, go to Comp or someone else. I used Crane's O.E. style replacements for this. (but seeing as they're no longer in business, you'll have to go elsewhere) Used B cams can be frequently found in the classifieds on Stangnet.com
