OK, now that I got it going, I need to stop. Master Cylinder suggestions?

Scott, I think that master cylinder is the same as a D150 Doge pickup. I know at least one of the Wilwoods are. Either way I did test fit one of those on a Mav at Pull-A-Part and the flange fit, as did Explorer and Cherokee stuff. How well it would work is another question though... I'm just looking to replace mine with something that doesn't want to leak as much.

I am done with used and rebuilt stuff. This isn't one of the funnest jobs, cuz I hate working with brake fluid.

I am buying new and decent brand name this time. And maybe it will last more than 3 years or 3000 miles.

Thanks for the part number, Dave. Got it posted to favorites.

disks up front, drums out back. Which one is for 4-disks, the wilwood of Dave's or the Tuff-stuff I posted?

Dave, are the two lines running out the same size or is one larger?

Do you by any chance have, or know the fitting sizes?

I have ordered several that were wrong due to the sizes of the fittings, so I may just cut and re-flare with the correct fittings if I have to.

The master came with a bunch of adapters, so I just used the ones in the kit.
Did I mention, that my new master cylinder was different than the factory one, that it had the front brakes as the front reservoir, and the rears at the rear, compared to the factory Drum/Drum that was in my car (since it was a 73, and no disc's), so I had to bend up the lines to work, no big deal. Just something I forgot.

COOL!!! Selling point right there! :thumbs2:

I cannot count the number of rebuilt "maverick" masters I bought, only to get them home and the fittings are all wrong. It would be nice to have an array of fittings to make it work the first time.

the willwood one. it doesnt have the risidual pressure valve for the rear drum brakes. aparently it still works sence it works for dave. fyi, the 86 svo mustang had a aluminum master cylinder and 4 wheel disk brakes. it should be cheaper than the 200 for that willwood master.

I can get the 86 svo for a little over 100. Do i order the one for manual?

What is the difference between the manual and power master cylinder? Does the power one always come with the big vacuum booster? Other than the booster, what is the difference between the two masters?

86 svo mc from Ford was over $400!!!

Before I get an "off" brand from O'Reilly, I will just fork the cash over for a summit jobbie.

i dont think that it was offered manual. ok i just went and dug the one i had out. its outlets are on the motor side, and it doesnt have a grove it it for the push rod to lock into. so im thinking its not such a good way to go. im going to take it apart some day and see if i can swap the pice that the push rod goes into with one that has the groove to lock it in with. sorry to get your hopes up on a good alternitve. the othe one that i know of being used is the one for a 1980 dodge truck. a d50 i think. its what willwood used to sell for there kits till they started making the all aluminum ones.
