Hmmm I guess I missed a few... looks like I must be due.... But I guess I am not doing bad since I have only changed the engine oil regularly, just put the 2nd set of spark plugs in... haven't changed the spark plug wires, or distributor cap. Just got the 2nd set of tie rod ends today. Oh and just put a new water pump and hoses on about a month ago... A guy once asked a friend... "how long does it take to wear out a Ford Pick Up?" He replied "I don't know, but you can sure drive them for a LONG time after that!!"
I have used sea foam on my 1988 Nissan Pathfinder, i put it through the engine and let it sit for about 5 hours came and started it smoked a **** load and it made a noticeable change to power and just ran smoother to. My brother used it in his 89 Chevy Blazer and got it to pass emissions and he said power increased and ran smoother (Blazer had 250,000+ and Pathfinder had 300,000 miles) So in summery if your having tranny problems i would try it other wise just flush the fluids every once in a while
sea foam It works great as a fuel system cleaner but beyond that i would not put anything in a transmission except new fluid and filter. there is no miracle juice for a trans. If it junk, It's junk. Stuff will clean carbon off valve's and dirty intakes and carbs really good. run you motor up to 1500 or so rpm. hold it there, and pour into you r carb until it floods out the motor. let it sit for 20-30 min. then start it up and enjoy the smoke show! works good. I run it right n with the gas in the tank too every 4-5 fill ups.
I've used Seafoam to free up a stuck idle air valve on the GF's 300zx. It's fun to dump the stuff in someone's intake without telling them, then watch em drive around for 15 minutes lookin like James Bond.
