Ive got a Shelby intake for my 351w that is made for/by Buddy Bar for Ford. does anyone have any info on these intakes and/or their RPM ranges? looking for any helpful info that i can find. Thanks
I see you got that ugly hose fitting out of it.I soaked it for 3 days with Kroil before sending it out to ya.Glad it came out... My understanding is its a copy of the cast iron ford 4V intake sold over the dealer counter in the late 60's through about 72. So... should work from idle to around 5700 rpm.On a big port Trick flow head it will "probably" be good to 6 grand maybe 6200.
actually, i stole the pic from the internet havent had a chance to get the fitting out yet but will probably work on it tonight. thanks for soaking it in advance sometimes they can be a PITA
I was wondering if you blasted it too...Looked cleaner than I remember it...LOL... Then I went to the site Dave listed and said..."oh...Thats where the pic came from!" That fitting can be a bear to remove...I hope it comes out for you and leaves the threads in place...Good luck!!!
This is the OHO intake offered thru the dealers and std equipment on the 69-70 Shelby GT350's. It's good to 6500(or more), same as an Edelbrock RPM. It's a little known jewel to those hobbled with racing rules allowing only "stoick" intakes. A couple of my freinds into the circle track scene surprised the Chebby guys in running these.
well that's good to hear. it was a toss up between this one and a new RPM intake, and i got a good deal on this one (thx again Pete)
Boy! looks too good now...I shoulda kept it...LOL... Did that pipe give you any trouble on its way out Dave?? I love Kroil penatrating oil...
a lil bit but not alot..... two wrenches locked together and the bi-cep of a cornbread eatin', soup-bean fed country boy will break it loose every time (or just break it, lol)
actually got around to baking the paint on today. dunno if the camera can pick it up but looks even better in person now.... and now i have two reasons to keep it (one, i really like it... and two, it has my son's name on it)
