I know i shouldnt have the 750 holley on but i have no choice right now since the 650 crapped the bed. Would putting the 1 inch spacer under the carb help it run not as ruff? Or should i just leave it alone. Right now i have no choice but to run this little devil. Dave, no smart little comments about you guys voting on my crap.
If you have room go for it...Especially with a 750,you will need all the air velocity you can get to keep it from feeling mushy down low...
As you already know, 750 is too much for your combo, but you CAN make it work. What intake are you running? Putting a spacer on a dual plane will make it run like a single plane. I did that with a Performer 289 and really liked the oomph it gave it. Most people think a dual plane is better for the street, but I never felt that with the several setups I used on my car.
you'd would possibly have to jett it down a few sizes to make it run well but go for a 4 hole one inch spacer to give you more low end instead of the open plenium spacer.. either way i'm sure you'll loose throttle responce due to haveing more cfms then needed but still should perform good enough
Is this carb a double pumper? 1" open for my vote. Only because i used one on a similar setup and it worked.
spacer i have a holly 750 on my 302. It is .030 over with a pretty big cam and gt40 heads. edelbrock performer rpm intake(dual plane)I have a 4 hole 1 inch spacer under mine but still jetted down 2 #'S. But spacer definetly helped on the low end. i jetted mine down only cause it ran a little rich still and i wanted it perfect because it was a brand new motor. But i think you should be alright if you run the spacer in question. 650 is perfect but 750 will work but you will notice a substantial difference in gas mileage. But heh, who gives a rats ass about gas mileage when you want performance!
running a two inch closed spacer on my bros 331 stroker with an rpm air gap, 650 mighty demon, cant wait to tune it and dyno it
Actually the 650 worked alot better with my setup. The 750 single pump just boggs when you go over 1/2 pedal.
