    The time has come for me to fix the old ball joints on my Comet as i have missed some of the cruise events with the boys and that i can't handle. It's no fun just reading about things like the 2nd annual Yonge St. end of the year cruise. [IMG] [IMG] 2nd_yonge_brians_mav_rear_original.jpg 2nd_yonge_hard_rock_mavericks_original.jpg

    With that in mind on Sunday November 22 2009 the boys will be getting together for the First Annual Maverick Comet Ball Joint Change 2009. I'd like to thank Larry Winter and the boys ahead of time for the help as i don't have a clue on how to do it (at least correctly) so this will be a learning experience for me. I figure after 34 years it's time for the change and maybe we can do a 2nd annual Yonge St. end of the season cruise PART 2.

    Here are the pictures from the First Annual Maverick / Comet Ball Joint Change 2009.

    Before we did anything on the Comet Larry cooked up some of his great patented Maverick / Comet burgers. swap_15_maverick_burgers_copy_original.jpg We managed to get Gord to stop at 7 burgers.

    Here's the old Comet up and the wheels off ready for work to be done.[IMG] Here is Mavmenace and Larry Winter starting the ball joint job. [IMG] Larry's Maverick / Comet auto shop (notice the sweet Maverick in the garage). [IMG]

    A little grinding to get the studs out. [IMG]

    Ever notice the guy holding the tools is the guy who really has no clue how to do the job, [IMG] [IMG] :rofl:

    Gord starting to clean up the tools as the job is almost done. [IMG]

    Larry finishing up the last bit of work. [IMG]

    The ol' Comet finished with new upper ball joints [IMG]

    And the group shot of the boys at the First Annual Maverick / Comet Ball Joint Change 2009. [IMG] Is that not special. You got a great sense of humor Gord.

    I would like to thank the boys for the help on my Comet, for coming over to Larry's house on a Sunday and fixing my beater. Thanks Larry for doing most of the work, your a real pro and a true Maverick Comet fan. And thanks for the use of your house and tools.

    It's always good to have friends who know what the hell their doing.;)

    Let's see who's car will be at the Second Annual Maverick/ Comet Ball Joint Change 2010 (I think i need lower ball joints:rednose:).

    Once again........... thanks guys.:D(y):clap::clap::clap:

    Sure wish I was there. I was knee deep in the 2nd annual Sprucedale Rd Bathroom Reno. But I'd rather have been eating Mav/Com burgers and inhaling grinding dust. You boys sure do have fun in that golden triangle...nice job as usual in documenting this event...:thumbs2::clap:

    I did , the grinder was for the drama and special effects. The best way is to air chisel or 5 pound hammer and chisel.
