what why whould i dubble the ratio

you turn the tire one full turn and count how many times the driveline turns and that gives you the ratio

i checked my stock ratio that way and it turned 3 times witch means it was a 3.00-1 ratio so if i had to dubble it then it whould be a 6,00-1 ratio WHAT ?????????????????

I believe you have to double the count for an open diffential, but not for a posi unit. I haven't done this, but this is what the consensus is from what I've read.

Was your stock chunk a posi? Is this one an open dif? If you take an exact count of the drive shaft rotations, you might get 1.625 turns which would be the advertised 3.25 ratio(y)

Remember that there are gears in the differential - spider and side gears - that will double the number of times the tire turns for each driveline turn if only one wheel is turning. If you turn both wheels the same direction the drive line will turn the correct amount - if you turn each wheel in the opposite direction the driveline won't turn at all.

So if i have to double it then it would be a 3.25-1 ratio then why did i gain 5 mph on each gear with a 3.25 i should have gotten a lower MPH shift's

your speedo is not going to be right unless you change the speedo gear with the correct one.that will account for the gain you see
