o.k. the car is setup for a 460 and came with both engine plates .But the cleveland is a built motor and the 460 is a stock 73 460 4 barrel motor what do you guys think ???
Do the Cleveland and stay with it. Instead of spending money on the 460, not that they're not good, just put it all in the Cleveland.
I'm a little bias toward using the Cleveland but I'm looking at your chassis and I wonder if anything will fit in it with a front sump pan?
460 all the way. Freshen up the shortblock with rings and bearings. Add carb intake and cam, that 460 will run with, or even out run the cleveland. You can get a lot more power from the 460 for very little money. Good port work on the stock heads, the right cam and intake, and minimum of an 850 cfm carb could easily put you at or near 500hp.
stroke the 460 to a 521 .it makes my 4000 pound galaxie run 10.70s@ 124 with iron dove c heads , stealth duel plane intake, and a 950 hp holley and a glide. ihave about $6000 in the motor. should run mid to low 9s in a mav . just my opinion
