I drove the Mav to church this morning. We go in different cars since Deb goes earlier than I do so she drove the Mustang. We stopped at the cafe in town for lunch. When we came out, she said "Let me drive your car home and you drive mine". She had never driven it, only moved it in the yard one day. I said, "OK", and gave her my keys. I left out right behind her. She didn't really punch it hard, but was up to 70 in a heartbeat! Then, on the long straight just about 1 mile from the house, she floored it! The little 2.3 4 cyl in the Mustang couldn't keep up, and I got it up over 85! When I pulled into the yard behind her, she had the biggest grin she could have on her face!:yup: She loved the power and speed! I had to take my keys away from her. She has never really liked this car as much as I have, but now that it's painted and looks better she loves it. She just couldn't get over how fast it really was, how easy it got up to speed that fast. I may have created a monster!:D I'm gonna have a hard time keeping her out of it now. I have made a very bad mistake!:rofl2:

No Mike, she is wanting a Mustang II coupe. She had one when we got married, a 4 cyl auto. We found one on eBay the other day almost exactly like the one she had, but it was in California, and the shipping would have made it out of our reach. Really don't want a another 4 cyl one, I'd prefer a V8 car. The 4 was a slow dog. Not in a hurry, the right one will come along.

You know, if you guys keep letting your wives drive the cars. pretty soon we'll all end up in the passenger seat.:rofl2: Actually, I wish I could get my wife to race the car. I think she would be better at it than me.:)

I let my wife drive my car some 30 odd years ago, we were not married yet. She has no idea how to drive a 4 speed but she did it. Tried to teach her how to drive my 5.0 stang 5 speed, no way no how. Maybe these Mavericks are girl friendly cars?? Glad she loved it, makes it all the better.

That may well be the douchiest thing I've ever seen. I do believe I'd be in big trouble if I saw that in person. I would lose all voluntary motor skills and my mouth would run completely independent of my mind. It would probably end with me getting tased.

My wife likes the Comet but the drum brakes are a deal breaker. She's a small woman and those muscle brakes are hard for her to use. She only drives it when she has to. Whenever I get the disc conversion I am sure she will take it over LOL.

Its so nice reading about a couple enjoying Ford products. I bought my wife a Mustang II back in the day. It was stolen never to be seen again.
