pulled the engine, trans and rear end out of my '74 F100 that i bought last week only to find something surprising. the truck came with a 240, and it had a 302 in it, so i knew someone had added it at one time. i also noticed the engine had car (maverick type) manifolds on it and a 7 blade factory flex fan. after i pulled the engine today and got it laying on the ground, i scraped the crud off of VIN stamping only to find that the engine is from a '72 Grabber. Ironic, huh? it seems no matter what, my life revolves around Mavericks the vin is 2X93F156369 (not 100% positive on last 3 digits), so if anyone in the area has a '72 Grabber with this VIN, i have your engine
If it was pulled out of a maverick and put in a truck more then likely it was rusted or wrecked but that is eastern ky they love there trucks
you should put it all back together and put some grabber scoops off a bad hood then a grabber spoiler on the bed and grabber stripes on the side:bananaman
if someone stepped forth with the car, i'd give them the engine.... just so that they had it :Handshake
Hmmm.... The green Grabber is a '72 isn't it??? Put the engine in there, throw a shiny paint job on it, some big wheels, and a clean interior in it. Then pull a Wrecks to Riches and sell it in the Barrett Jackson Auction as a Super Muscle Car for the big bucks!!! -Scott H.
Actually, I know exactly where my numbers matching block is. I gave mine to 924 Mav to swap out one of his I6 engines.
i already have a good running 302 in it that i would hate to pull back out not to mention the engine in the car is from a '71 Comet GT so it's close enough, lol
yeah, check 'em out. it would be cool to find the car that the engine belongs to. it seems like a needle in a hay stack, but i have done it before
