Dont laugh Dave...We have a guy here whos pretty darn good.Watched him fix a roof on a Chrysler 300 that looked like, the Rocketts danced on it.All that was left when he finished was a few scratches. I color sanded and buffed them out and it was good to go.

I am with Craig now that the frame rails are bent that will never be the same without changing them . if it was just the rollover I say fix , but frame rails

I'd rather fix neither....and those cars are all over the place! Just have to look....and not even that hard of a look.

No need to fix them...top and tail it and be done. One cut through the floor, one cut through each windshield post, weld it all back together, all over! :yup:

now see i don't think that is the RIGHT way to do it I know that the body shops do it that way but not something like this .. and it will be expensive to find a rust free clip to do what you said

Sounds so easy when you say it like that. :biglaugh: Want to come do it for me? :D

What would you figure would be the right way to do this? Straighten the frame rails/replace them, new roof, and a new quarter panel?

Not really, I've seen lots of cars (practically rust free) that sell for less than $1500, some complete, some wrecked in the front. I wouldn't hesitate to cut a good plain-Jane 6 cyl car (or wrecked) one to save a good V8 Sprint. You need to count how many V8 Sprints there are on this board. I'm telling you there are not many. A good body man can do this repair in 2-3 days...we have done many. (The job pays about 30 hours labor) I actually have a very good 71 6 cyl Grabber body that I would scarifice if I had that Sprint, no doubt about it. That car needs to be saved. (y) If it wasn't over 2000 miles away I'd be trying to talk him out of it. :yup:

The "Restoring a car" way would be to use as much of the original as possible.
First thing I would do is, put it on a frame machine and see how bent it is and if it can be un-bent with whats allready there. That will decide the direction you must go and the parts you will need to replace.

I got a rust free rolling shell for free that would be perfect for this.

I agree, but you gotta cut off the roof and quarters anyway. The rear frame rails are damaged probably from a previous accident. There's no way the rear of this car needs to be repaired unless someone just wants to spend tons of money...and lots of time. JMO :)

I agree Ray...I would at least asess it on a frame rack to see if its bent anywhere else though.Cut the A pillars 6" up from the cowl...Cut the pan at the rear footwell seam. Seperate it from the inner rockers.Cut quarters/roof loose at rockers/ B pillars and just roll the carnage out to the curb.:thumbs2:
