I wanted to share a few more updates. Finally, almost all the wiring is done. I installed all brand new wiring..... That took a lot longer then I thought. The engine is finished and runs great. Ran all wiring, heater hoses and ac lines through the fenders. I installed all new power brake system. All new brake lines were fabricated and installed. Vintage air system almost done. Glass starting to go in. I just installed the headliner and carpet. Mounted the Classic instruments gauges. Installed all the sound and heat insulation... roof, floor, and firewall. Mounted B & M Quicksilver shifter. Installed new gas tank. Starting to wet sand and buff the paint in a couple weeks. And best of all I finally sent the car of to receive a high performance AOD transmission and Magnaflow exhaust system.... maybe I can actually drive now. By the way you can see when the light doesn't hit the paint it almost looks black.... also the front end is also now on..... Oh well I guess that was more then a few more updates.
Thanks guys.......I guess in a couple days we'll see if your cross member fits. jk Actually, it looks really good and well built, I'm sure it's perfect. Thanks again Frank
I really like the way your Comet is turning out. You've done a GREAT job! Unfortunately, there is NO way I could drive it because of all the inattentive morons behind the wheel around here. -Scott H.
mr. spillman, Great jopb on the Mav. I am new to the forum and just got back into the hobby after decades of admiring other peoples rides. I bought a 73 Comet GT this July and wud like to know what kind of pwr brake booster ur using on the Mav. I have 11" disk and 10 or 11" drums but wud like the pwr assist. Also, what combo of wheel and tire size do u have? What If any spacers were needed for the wheels. Thanks for any info. Mojo
Very sharp car!!! I will be in Bradenton in Jan for a couple of weeks and would love to see it in person. Are you taking it to the NPD show?
Awesome ... can't wait to see it in person. Looks like we have the same gas filler. Mine is still in the box ... any tips you can give me on what you ran into when installing it?
68 Shelby tail panel? That whole car looks fantastic! Looking at the metalflake in there I can't imagine any gun that could pass stuff that big and give you a nice finish as well. absolutely awsume job on that car.
This is where I purchased the brake booster. http://www.abspowerbrake.com/index.html The wheels are 17" x 8" I didn't use any spacers. I can check on the tire size later. The car is at the shop right now getting the trans and exhaust.
