We know nothing about what is done to his car/engine, so it's anyone's guess as to what it would take to outrun him.

Yup, like Jamie said, without the details on his & your engine it would be hard to say for sure. BTW a 302 is the same as a 5.0, so it could be a pretty close race if both your engines are build similarly. What trans/rear gear are you running? Are you doing 1/4 mile, track, etc?

3.80 gears, a 3000 rpm stall converter, a 150 shot of nos. some drag raidals or slicks and some caltrax bars or slaper bars. that should be most street driven cars out there.

the problem with this is you dont know what his car runs. have you ever drag raced at a real track? if not then get some practice in before you meet him there. he will beat you if its your first time ever drag racing at a track. the tree will be green and he will be 5 cars out on you befor you realize what happened. good luck, have fun, and be safe.

Bryant has it all right! Gears, tires and horsepower, and a good reaction time. U need to be a good driver, that is half the battle no matter what you are racing. I speak from experience , drag racing on the track and street for many years. I do not do the street racing anymore though. Just at the track now.
