    Maverick VINs

    Hi folks,
    my name is Kevin, I live in Australia.

    I am researching Non US or Canadian VIN numbers for Fords.

    Would I be safe assuming that all Mavericks have the same 2 digit code, "91", and there are no funny rare ones around. Were the V8's the same body code as 91, or where they maybe 92? I know the other system has a 62A, that has 3 characters, which is not the system the NON US/Canadian world uses. The rest of the world only ever used 2 digits for the body type.

    I am seeking all classic (2 digit) Ford VIN body codes from the different assembly plants around the world.

    If anyone has a Mexican built classic Ford, can they please let me know what the VIN prefix is, eg, the first 6 characters, such as AF09LS, which would say, a US CKD (Complete Knockdown Kit) assembled in Mexico, Mustang, July 1971 in real language.

    I am also trying to collect these numbers from Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Peru. I have big holes in my Sth American knowledge here.

    If you have any suggestions also, much appreciated.

    Comet 31 is 2-Dr, 30 is 4-Dr
    (North American built Mavericks)
    Ha, and the funny thing is, I opened my book, and it had an Australian 5 dollar bill as a bookmark.

    Thanks Dave

    Thank you Dave, this stuff seems so hard to find, and you just donged me right on the head with 4 new ones.

    I'll be including those codes into the software later today, the program has been online for a while, but I will always keep looking for new numbers.

    I am a lot lacking in info on comets, never got them in Oz.

    This has put a smile on my dial.

    :)

    Oh yes, the program, well, just in case I shouldn't post links to my rubbish on the forum, which may be spamming, do a google search for vk3ukf (thats me) and ford decoder, when you see the vk3ukf bit in the url, thats my Ford page.

    It should be done soon, but just have a look and try it out tomorrow when the changes are in.

    New numbers, new numbers..........:dance:

    I ask the question and an Aussie 5 bucks in the bookmark, scary....

    ==================================
    Question on the Comets,

    where they assembled in Mexico by Ford?
    ==================================
    All the best Dave, Kevin, Australia.

    :Welcome: to the board!

    T means it had a 200 straight 6 from the factory. No '70 Maverick came with a 302 from the factory.

    Plus there was no part of the VIN # specifically for the 70 Grabber.
