Ive been porting my e7 heads out and i guess im done. The question is i called around some places and the want aroung 400.00 to do a 3 angle valve job, grind them flat install new valve springs and freeze out plugs. Is that to much to spend on stock heads? The valve are stock. What do you guess think?????????
It's about double what I paid to do mine. Unless they're supplying the springs & retainers. I supplied all that myself, all I paid for was labor. I also suggest using someone who has a Serdi machine to do the valve seats. It does a better job than the old 3 angle in one pass.
As said, if all the parts and labor are included at $400, that is not too bad of a price. But if you have the money, you can get a bolt on set of aluminum heads now a days for about $800 ........ I'd go aluminum if you can afford it ........... JMHO .........
Springs and retainers are about $100-150. Labor has likely gone up in the 5-6 years since I did mine so $400 isn't out of line I guess. Just make sure the springs match your cam profile requirements.
if you look around on the mustang sites you could find a set of gt40 heads for that kind of money and they flow better
So you think my e7 might flow good then...................? Im just dont want to throw 400.00 at these heads if i could do better on some others.
I run ported E7TE's and I'm more than happy with them. I'd double check what valve springs they are using, and match them to your cam. 400 isn't bad around here.
I ported a set of E7's and I have every confidence that they flow as well as stock GT40's. If not dead on, they're damned close. And I spent all of $300 on em. (cost of the heads + bits, springs and retainers, plus the valve job)
YES What are you trying to say?????????? LOL I thought i would give it a try myself, kinda buildin on a budget. If there a little better than they were thats ok. My lobor is cheap
