Ashtray light....

    bought a dash assembly in columbus for the hull and when i was removing everything i noticed a wire going to the top of the ashtray. come to find out, it's a light for the ashtray. had never seen anything like it before :huh: btw, the dash was from a '75 Grabber 250/3sp car

    also found a strange plug in with a D3 part number on it...:16suspect

    ive had several LDO cars but never seen one besides this one, and it looks like it broke at some point and someone re-installed it

    Yeah.....that one is being held on with a door panel clip. Ha, ha.

    I have had several of them. I installed one on my orange grabber.

    My Comets got one,and it's a plain jane.Maybe they were standard on Comets/optional on Mavericks?

    my LDO or GT doesnt have it.... :huh:

    im gonna look thru some other cars and dash i have out and see if i can locate another one

    that's kinda what i was thinking... and i think that option started in 73 or 74

    That same style of lamp is used in many different Fords. A trip to the salvage yartd will net you a number of them. Just look under the dash or console will be productive.:)
