Here is a suggestion, those of you that are planning the upcoming Maverick and Comet shows need to solicit goody bag stuffers and raffle prizes from AutoKrafters. Hint that a current catalogs would be greatly appreciated as you have a bunch of new members and young members on a budget. We do this for our National and regional Cougar Club shows. You need to talk to the right people at AK. They are very accommodating when you reach the right desk. We always get bundles of catalogs and gift certificates for our shows. Sometimes the catalogs are 6-12 months old, but they send plenty of extras for 'spectators' with cars under construction. We send mass mailings with cover letters with club logo, mission statement and a show flyer, we talk it up good, stating that we have a concours and modified judged show and expect 75-125 Classic Cougars. We are a non-profit club (as most clubs are) they write off the value of catalogs and portion of the gift certificates as "donatations". Belonging and participating in club shows has its benefits for the freebies. Meguires and Stoner are also generous with product samples.
Auto Krafters has supported the MCCI and the Roundup Nationals in this capacity for the last 15 years. Lots of free catalogs and door prizes and always willing to help. They even came to Washington, D.C. and set up a booth in the swap meet area at the 14th Roundup Nationals. They don't do it for the "write-off" because the MCCI and most car clubs are a 501(c)7 not-for-profit and donations to these organizations are not tax deductible.
There aftermarket stuff is chinese made anyway... the last thing i bought will be my last from them unless its something i know they sell that is quality. Ive boughten prolly 30 items from them only thing that i was satisfied with was the Front and rear window Gaskets and my Battery tray... everything else ive boughten you can completly tell how cheaply manufactured the parts were... My Last set of Scuff plates looked like they were plastic chrome dipped and they wernt as wide as originals... completly "cheesy" looking ... that along with other aftermarket items ive purchased.
Those type's of item's are considered "advertising" and are included in business exspenses, and are deductable as such for the company. I give lot's of money to the DAV here in Conway(am a life member) and they are non-profit too. With receipt's, they are tax deductable. Just for info, not for spite
I fully understand what you are saying. But to clarify.....the DAV is more than likley a 501(c)3...which contributions to such organizations are tax deductable. A donation to any other type of not-for-profit is not tax deductable. Yes.....companies do consider those type of donations as "advertising"....a way to promote their business to their customers....and future customers.
If the set you bought was not wide enough when compared to your old scuff plates....then you bought the wrong set. Your car must be a 1970, as the scuff plates were wider in 1970. I have found that the scuff plates they sell for the 1971-1977 Maverick is 100% dead-on accurate in every way.
They really dont give a crap. 2 hours after that happened I sent Auto Krafters a Fax explaining what happened to me as a potential new customer. I even said I didnt mind paying the 5$ cost but didnt think being rude was appropiate. I put my name, number and fax on it. So far no response from them.
Unless it gets to the right person or persons it will not go any good. A customer service person is not going to tell on themselves, a complaint faxed into the order desk likely got put in the round file. Most aftermarket Ford car part supply companies are selling Scott Drake, Dennis Carpenter, and other reproduction manufacturers parts. The only thing setting any of them apart is the name on the building, the phone number, and their customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction. In this economy, positive customer service should be the paramount objective for any of these companies that wish to improve sales. If you are serious about following through with your complaint ask to speak to an Operations Manager. I have a friend in the Classic Cougar part business and he has an arrangement with MU where they sell each others company, parts at a wholesale price. This person at MU, (who happens to be pretty high up on the food chain over there) has stated that the Mustangs Unlimited online catalogs are horrible, and wants them changed to another format. I think they get the bad online catalog thing
autokrafters Support or no support for anyone does not give you the right to be rude....As a business owner you can never mistreat any customers good day or bad day your having if they were to get this very feedback to the owners I would hope they would do something about it.
ive had two big orders with AK and have never goten a catalog. i just got the trim clips for the front windshield that were mentioned and have not put them on yet. i had goten some for a local autobody suply and the glass guys said that they didnt work. the ones from AK are the same color as the ones from the autobody shop. i hope they work.
