traded for this a couple weeks ago and posted about it but just now got a nice day to go get it. it's prolly nicer than what i thought. here's a laydown: -1973 Comet 2dr -LDO -vinyl top -floor shift -p/s -a/c -250/auto -bumper guards -am/fm stereo w/ 4 speaker system (never had one before) -even has the hood insulation still on it has SOLID quarters, floors, rockers, torque boxes, doors, etc... so i dunno if i can bring myself to part it out or not. would make a really nice driver but really dont need it. only time will tell http://s70.photobucket.com/albums/i82/mean_maverick/73 comet LDO/
Wow, don't part that out. I don't notice many LDO Comets out there! Sure, you see the Mavs, but how many Comets do you see? That is a well equipped car. I think if you stew on it a while, you might find this is a nice score.
Looked at the pics... Those aren't tears... I have something in my eye. It needs alot. I'd love to see that car with smooth (no uprights) small bumpers, sport mirrors, chin spoiler, Grabber ducktail (retaining the trim strip), and a simulated (no rot) halo top. Done in white with some sporty touches, that would be one smooth ride. Would take alot to do though...
There are cars that ARE bad and then there are cars that LOOK deceptively bad. I think this car falls into the later category.I wouldn't part that car. That could be a nice car with a few weekends worth of work. Sand and put Rust Bullet on the rusty areas, and being white, you could just spray bomb over the rust bullet and it would probably look decent. Interior needs some work, but the interior in these cars is so simple, that wouldn't discourage me. Give it a good tune up, disc brakes up front, and you have a decent cruiser.
dunno yet. have to decide what to do with it first. but keep in mind, i also have a '72 for sale.. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=51840
update: got it running today. engine sounds good, gonna rebuild the carb because it seeps gas, and try to get some brakes on it. maybe even take it around the block wish me luck...
