Sure take your Mav to the car show, always a good conversation piece. Hold your head high and be proud of what you have.
Hard to tell from your pictures... How's the interior look? How's the outside upclose? All car shows are different. Some are for the "best" cars, and others will take anything over 30 years. Id say if you have a smaller, local car show comin up, go for it. EDIT - Do you mean take to show or just as transportation?
i show up with something at cruise night all the time. mavericks sure do get alot of looks. and most the time it'll be the only one there
I don't,mine's a beater.I can't tell you whether to show yours or not,I don't know what it looks like.
I can't. (Is it legal to push a car on the street? ) But, hopefully by next summer I can have it at the two local car shows. (Wed. Night at the Kroger on Ecorse in Taylor, and Fri. night at the Sears in Lincoln Park) I would take it sooner if I had a trailer, just tow it there behind the 72' truck. I say you should take yours, you never know you may find someone else who has a Mav.
Take it...go for the enjoyment not with plans of winning. If you win then its a bonus. Have a great time and make our cars continue to gain in popularity, everyone looks at so many Mustangs, Chevelles, Novas and Camaros, that the Mavericks and Comets get alot of attention because so many had them years ago and now they are unique because there is never more than a few if any there. I take mine to a few cruises and a few shows when I have time but it is for the enjoyment.
Absolutely...several a year...every cruise-in I can, and even the drag strip which is actually more fun that a show. I keep hearing, hey man, I can't believe you're racing this car. It needs to be in a show! I just tell them I'm tired of shows all the time. Time to have a little more fun with it. My point in all of this is take your car out as much as possible and enjoy it. It will get attention and lots of positive comments no matter what you do with it. Good luck with it and enjoy.
I may take the comet to some when it's finished. But I got burnt out on shows a few years ago. There's too much politics involved in some. I too get more enjoyment from the drag strip. I think it'd be more fun to go to a cruise and be there for a couple of hours and bs with all the others.
I won't do shows. I will not participate in any event that mandates that my car be judged in order to be in the event. But I will do cruise-ins. Here in the Louisville area, there is a cruise-in at a different location every Friday night during the summer.....I plan to attend as many of them as I can.
Same here, I never have or plan to enter it, but Just park it next to the other cars, so it looks better. There are a couple of pro-streeted pinto's around here, it'll blend in nicely.
I put mine in a local show back in October it was the only Maverick there.I got a lot comments on it. My car is a long way from a show car, as matter fact its closer to a junkyard car than a show car, but I enjoy the heck out of it!
i had my maverick for almost two years before i got to be in the drivers seat. now i can get my license in January... as for the show! go for it!
Well, I can't for multiple reasons. First of all It doesn't run yet. Second of all slicks aren't street legal. And, Finally, I don't have my license yet.
