thanks for the PM looks MEATTY! Nittos? shoot, i'd say if the you probably bable to put a x11 with a 6.5BS if you took off the fender moldings and rolled the lip... cuz right now you have about what 3.5 on the outside you could get away with 4.5 i'd try the 315 like you said, but try not to lose any more side wall... if anything see if you can get a bit back... thats the problem with going wider on these larger rims... the tire companies start making them with less side wall to make up for the x2 to x3 factor. oh wells. but nice job.. now lose the grill and hood and buy my hood it will look killer with that grey!
I'm sorry, I was so happy to get the rims & tire that I forgot to take pics of anything else, I'll take some after work if its not dark. The only think about late model mustang wheels is they have alot of backspacing. If the rim didn't sit so far in the fender than we can run 11 inches in the rear. This rim have around 6.4 inches or so. I would not go over 6.75 in backspacing. the rim is 1/2 inches from the fender lip, so I could roll the lip for more space if needed. The good thing is that I'm able to put most mustang wheels up to the year 2004. Kumho MX Tires also, Nitto didn't make 295's
I for got to ask, if I put the Maverick hood on my car, can I keep the same latch? I don't know if the latches are the same for both cars.
if you don't have any Maverick stickers for the wheels, contact Dan Hines and see if he has any left, they would look good on those wheels.
That is the next step. I hate to ride around with that cobra in the middle. I just have not came up with something yet. I don't want the car to say to much. I like it when people asked "what kind of car is it" for some odd reason. I was thing about the Ford Racing sign but the oval will have to be black.
I have had the wheels about 10 months. It took me this long to find a person that could do the job & do it right that I trusted. I told him that this car has never set anyplace overnight but my house, so if something happened to it things were going to get ugly. I took it as far to even find out where he stayed. I hate being messed over. I'm might be a little crazy but one Maverick is already gone. It was taking from his home & I hate it. Cars are one of those things that people shouldn't bother. Sorry I started to go on & on. In the long run I think it was worth it. Ended up costing about $2100 but that includes the fuel level gauge, new spring perches, new fuel line, AN fittings, & race cell with sender.
I normally don't like the big wheel-short tire look.....but this looks GREAT! Who said BIG BUMPER CARS are ugly? I think you well got your moneys worth if the trunk looks as good as the outside.....
Very nice, i'm impressed. I would really like to see some pics of how he did the leaf springs and tubs.....also, did you have to modify the rear seat??
Thanks, but without looking at yours on the forum, videos, & reading replies I would still be lost. I had the car a year before I found this forum and I still don't know enough about the car yet. I will take some more pics this weekend, I get off work to late at night this week. I was going to take some pics while it was in the shop but the camera was the last thing on my mind. It took him 2 1/2 weeks, but I was the slow guy in the group. We also keep the back seat. The tubs stop behind those plastic panels next to the rear seat.
