whould a 71 grabber be hard to come by w/302. i think i might try to find one and put my purple maverick back to original. or make a clone out of a standard mav.

JMO.....but if your car is as rare as some think it is, I would return it to as stock as I could. With a clone (since you are thinking about getting another Mav), you can do what ever you want to it and still have your original that may be worth more down the road. I would get a Marti report first and decide after I found out exactly how rare my car is.

There is no way I would restore an original special order Purple Maverick to anything other than the original Purple Maverick. If you want a Grabber to restore I would think you could find somebody to trade you for one in equivalent condition to your purple Maverick. If I had a 71 Grabber in the same condition as your Purple Maverick ... I would trade you. I would also be researching the heck out of why it's purple ... the Link to the purple Cougar in the other thread looks promising.

X2. theres plenty of plain mavericks or just grabbers out there to hot rod, you have a very rare car that i wouldn't change a thing on besides maybe some wheels :bouncy:

yes i have thought about it and putting mine back to as close to original as possible is the best thing to do. but until i get all the right parts i am still going to put my 89 motor and c4 in it so i can have some fun with it without hacking it up. so i guess after i get it going i will start looking for another mav to play around with. and paint it black cherry always wanted to do one in black cherry.
