    well, welcome to the site.

as for the book you're looking for, you won't find one with a boss 302 in it. 70' i believe was the last year for the boss 302, so the only way you'll have one, is if someone else put one in your car.
anyways, check ebay, and post another one on here looking for a 74 comet haynes, and maybe someone will sell you one.

Welcome to the board.:Welcome:If the engine is stock it is a regular 302. Boss 302's never came in a Maverick or Comet. If it is a boss 302 it would be very valuable.

dont worry, the guy i bought my car from tried to tell me it was a boss 302 originally as well. they're just misinformed. This site has a lot of information about boss 302, and you can always wikipedia the 302 and boss 302, it'll tell you lots. so, you can just read for yourself.

http://www.fordmaverick.com/ just click the link to the left that says chronology and click your year.

Welcome aboard! Don't worry that it doesn't have a Boss 302 in it. A lot of people have been misinformed over the years about that engine. Like stated above, it truly is a rare engine and would unlikely ever make it into a Maverick unless someone just had lots of money to spend. Most of us just have normal 302's in our cars, some built into stroker engines (331,347) and some just mild or stock. They're all good. Anyway, we hope you enjoy it here. Post pics when you can. You can always replicate a boss 302 by modifing some 351C heads and getting a boss manifold.
