I would say no...it is for a single speed fan....to make it...variable speeds . your fan as you know is a 2 speed ...

thats over kill and not nessary. most autoparts stores have a electric fan swith thingy that is around 30 bucks. its adjustable as to what temp it turns on at. it has a borbonic tube that goes to the radiator to read temp and a post on it that you can turn to adjust the on off temp. they usually are a burnt red and tan color.
i like to put the temp probe on near the water out let side of the radiator that way it sees what temp the rad is cooling down to and if your going fast enough the fan wont turn on. also the escort fan has a inital amprage spike of 50 amps or so. so you want to get a maxi fuse rated at 60 amps and its best to use a relay rated for the high amps. i usually use two 30 amp realys ran in parallel.

I was thinking of using it as variable speed & keeping the spike down when the fan turn on. But it just has a 30 amp relay. I new someone that is selling this for half price and thought I may be able to use it.

I called Flex-a-lite about using it for my Taurus fan and they told me not to use it. It would not be able to handle the loud. There are actually 2 versions of this and neither one of them where recommended.

I guess I can get a few relays & connect to a 3 way switch to manually turn it on high or low. I think I read a thread on this. Is Radio Shack a good place to get relays? I hate to go to Auto Zone, parts counter people don't know anything about custom applications.

I think you will still need a 75 amp relay to handle the high speed. My local autozone had everything but the 75 amp relay. My Radioshack did not have any parts I could use. I ordered my relay from ebay. I think it was 25.00.

The relay you need should be a BWD R3177 or just tell them you need a fuel pump relay for a `99 caravan with a 2.4

I got the relay today from NAPA. It's a small black box with 5 prongs to slide wires on to. It has small numbers on it that are 1,2,3,4,5. How do I wire this up?

you need to take a multimeter on it resistance seting (ohms) and see what post pairs with what. 2 of the posts should have some resistance. those are the controle posts. you use the temp sensor or you switch to goto one of those polls and another wire to goto ground on the the other poll. the picture you drew is a little confuseing. is there 4 posts or 5. if theres 5 then of the 3 remaining polls 2 will have continuity and one wont have continuity. if there are 4 polls then the 2 remaining ones should have no continuity. if you energize the polls that have resistance you should then get continuity on the two polls that you want the wire for the fan to goto.

Sounds like an electrical nightmare & I have not went to sleep yet. Okay, it has 5 polls. The numbers 3 & 5 are between the larger polls. The number 4 is between a large poll & the row of smaller pools. The 3 polls in a row are a little smaller. What is continuity?
