You know, when you put on injectors and they are spraying fine at installation and then stop working - I think dirt is a problem in the fuel. Have you flushed the injector manifold and feed lines?
the early coolant temp sensor read open until they reach operating temp. Much like a t stat would be closed until it opens. i am fairly certain the eec Iv stuff has the early sensor so it would show open if it was checked cold or no resistance. here is a illustration http://www.asashop.org/autoinc/may98/img/tt/fig1.gif The later sensors had thermistor in them that would show resitance at all stages of temp. Much more accurate.
http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=28 check this link this is the one i have. not surh but its saying i should have a reading anytime.
no sure what happened but some of the info is gone...............one page i think. anyways i taped the fuel pressure gage to my windsheild drove it ther was no change when it happened. I think its getting worse. Its allmost like the car dies then starts back up.
yeah what's up with that? all those posts gone! Man, if it's not a fuel issue It only has to be electrical, BRYANT mentioned something about a recall on the harness bad connection or something his post is gone now but he was going to look for a good one for you. I saw some cases of the harness being rubbed against something causing to wear out the wires and everything goes nuts, also a rotted wire I've seen those too many times people stick those test lights in the wire and with time the wire gets rotted causing it to break inside. But don't give-up! it's something stupid you'll see, easy fix The only problem is finding what.
i had mentioned in the missing section that ford had recalled the 5.0 mustangs for the two 10 pin connectors at the back of the intake manifold that sit on a plastic bracket behind the throttlebody. they installed a jumper harness that had differnt shape pins in it to create a stronger connection. ive seen one car that was haveing weird problems and cleaning those connectors with a contact terminal cleaner (avalibe from radio shack) then apply dieletric grease did seem to fix the problem. i might have a jumper harness in my garage somewhere, ill look.
I just droped it off to buddy of mines house its been bugging him to death. Still what doesnt make since to me is when it does it i can stomp it and it clears out and runs good untill i slow down again............
I no they go bad but there only a year old and i only drive it once or twice a week in the summer. Do you no if you can check them ? Its going to be hard for me to spend over 100.00 on new ones. But i would do it in a minute if i new it would fix it....
you can graph them with a oscilloscope, if you know what you are looking for then you can tell if they are bad. it would be alot easier if you had OBD II. it's hard for me to explain.
