Mike I hate to throw parts but like I said on the phone without being there it's the best advice I can give.

If the car was in front of me with the proper information and tools I know I could fix it. If all else fails we can haul it up here. I have a trailer.

It was a B2000, don't recall the year at this moment. Anyway, I was reading the book on it when it was giving me trouble and the ECM is grounded thru the O2. So what I recall was finding a "no ground" to the ECM after locating a repair manual and reading that.

The early OBD systems were whack and in my opinion since the guidelines from 1 manufacture to the other were limited to very little in common at best they are some of the hardest to diag.

im a little confused as to the exact problem now. is it when your cruising, the car surges? does the car idle smoothe or surge at idle? does get beter or worse after about 3 min?
in my training on ford fuel injection the computer cares alot more about air temp than the water temp sensor. the air temp sensor is in the #5 runner right next to where youve been working on that #6 fuel injector. the air temp sensor can get really gumed up with oil sludge from the pcv system. you should be able to check it with a ohm meter and a hair dryer, you also can check the coolant temp sensor the same way.

dont bother with a tps sensor. they usually create a drastic engine bog or stumble, not a surge. you really need a graphing multimeter to check one correctly. Please do clairify on the symptoms of the prblem.

That's what i told him on the phone a Ocsilloscope is needed to really see what is going on but a DVOM can see some glitches. He said it has a buck. I am thinking he needs to tow it up here(I have a trailer thanks to John Ford):D
Since my car is in pieces I would only charge a few spirited test drives :evilsmile and gas to get it here!!!!.

He got the dead cylinder fixed it was an injector issue. :tiphat:

Allright let me try to explain. At idle sitting in the drive way it seems fine, after driving it for a couple minutes it gets the serge. When i mash the gas even when its serging it clears out. Even when i bring it home after driving and park it running it idles smooth...

At this point mike...it can only eliminate a variable if it isnt the problem, which is a good thing.good luck man.How long do I need to hold my fingers in the crossed position for you??
